The Center for Craft & Applied Arts has partnerships with institutions and organizations around the Detroit area that allow us to provide up-to-date information about craft shows, events, and lectures happening in the craft community. The CCAA connects people to the events they are interested in and help them discover new craft experiences. These efforts boost lecture attendance and connect craftspeople and artists to new audiences by broadening the networks of local institutions and businesses.

The CCAA Craft Calendar consolidates events happening in the Detroit area into one list to make it easy to keep track of what is happening the craft community. The Calendar is always open for new submissions, so let us know about what's going on in your community no matter how big or small.

Starting in 2017 as part of the Craft Lecture Series, the CCAA will begin co-sponsoring one lecture per quarter in partnership with regional institutions. The CCAA would like to host a reception and provide food and drinks from local vendors for a reception following a sponsored lecture. This would be an excellent opportunity for various parts of the Detroit craft community to come together, socialize, and build rapport following a lecture event. If there is an upcoming lecture that you feel would be suitable for this, please let us know.
