Gelatin Printing and Leporello Book Workshop with Laura Beyer

80.00

Students will explore the joy of experimental printmaking using a provided 6”x 8” gelatin plate. Acrylic plaint can be rolled on or painted directly onto the surface of a gelatin plate. Stencils, string or drawing tools like Q-tips can be used to embellish the surface further to create one-of-a-kind prints. The gelatin plate has a slippery, bouncy surface that will allow the paint to transfer onto the paper with ease.

Once the prints are made students will create a Leporello book structure to contain them. The prints are folded lengthwise then glued together to form this accordion structure. To complete the book students will cover boards with bookcloth and adhere to front and black cover for a beautifully finished book.

This class meets Saturday April 14th from 10am-4pm at
the Ponyride Dance Studio:
1401 Vermont St, Detroit, MI
