Beginning Blacksmithing - Projects

This class will build upon skills and concepts presented in the Beginning Blacksmithing course. Students will further investigate the material by honing their technical skill and knowledge while working through the design, planning, and execution of a personal project.

Tuesday Evenings, 6 - 9 pm. September 19th - October 24th. $485, most material included. Introductory blacksmithing experience required.

Instructor Biography: 

Jordan Reeves began his metals training as an apprentice to Charlottesville, Virginia jeweler Martha Keith. After serving in the Peace Corps in Shargaljuut Soum, Mongolia from 2012-2014, Jordan returned to Charlottesville to work under goldsmith Maria Van Beek before working as a production metalsmith for the Silver Ring Splint Company. Before deciding to pursue metalsmithing full-time Jordan received degrees in Philosophy and Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Virginia. Jordan currently works as a metalsmith at Smith Shop, a custom metalworking studio in Detroit.
