The Center for Craft & Applied Arts is a non-profit organization that supports, promotes, and organizes craft in Detroit.
The CCAA is an ambitious, dynamic, and urban craft organization founded in 2015. Our mission is to support, promote, and organize craft in Detroit through education, exhibitions, public programs, community outreach, and economic development. Over the next three years the CCAA will become a nationally recognized craft organization which will set trends and standards for Craft in the United States. Robust educational programming will provide skill-based training and recreational opportunities, while the Center’s exhibitions, public and economic development programs will ensure the CCAA is a local, regional, and national destination where visitors can engage with craft objects, learn how they are made, appreciate their artistry, and gain support towards a career in creative production.
